Meeting with the Sudanese community
I connected with the Sudanese Community Association of Ontario to talk about the situation in Sudan and learn about the amazing work they do helping newcomers from Sudan adapt to life in Canada. The situation in Sudan is highly volatile, and we are deeply concerned for the safety of people in the region. Canada continues to call for an end to violence in Sudan and stands with the Sudanese people as they strive for peace. Thank you for having me.

Making life more affordable for families
Our kids deserve the best start to life — and early childhood education is a big part of that.
That’s why our government is training more early childhood educators, creating more childcare spaces, and making care more affordable.
We’re making sure you don’t choose between your career and raising your kids - with more early learning educators, affordable care, and a fair chance to get ahead.

More than 2.3 million Canadians approved for Canadian Dental Care Plan
More than 2.3 million Canadians have been approved to receive coverage under the plan and close to 450,000 of them have already received care. Participation among Canadians is steadily increasing, highlighting the importance of dental care and the need for the CDCP to make care more accessible and affordable.
The participation of oral health providers is essential to the success of the CDCP, and we have seen the number of providers supporting the CDCP across the country also increase. Currently, close to 19,000 oral health providers are participating in the CDCP by offering a wide range of services such as cleanings, fillings and dentures, representing more than 75% of active providers in Canada.
The CDCP is currently open to eligible seniors, adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate, and children under 18. Applications for all remaining eligible Canadians will begin in 2025.
