Supporting local business and local jobs Fantastic to join Secretary of State for Labour, John Zerucelli for an important FedDev Ontario announcement supporting 10 innovative businesses across the Greater Toronto Area. I’m especially proud to see Scarborough-based MTech receive support through this investment. As a local automotive parts manufacturer specializing in transmission, seating, suspension, and hydro assembly components, this funding will help MTech strengthen operations, adopt advanced manufacturing equipment, scale up, and continue creating good jobs right here in our community. Investments like these help businesses adapt, grow, strengthen supply chains, and build a more resilient local economy. Great to see federal support delivering real results for workers and businesses in Scarborough and across the GTA. |

Investing in the skilled trades and apprenticeships Great conversations at the United Association Local 46 in Scarborough with Minister Patty Hajdu and the hardworking tradespeople helping shape the future of our country. Together, we discussed strengthening the economy, creating more opportunities in the skilled trades, and continuing to build a stronger, more resilient Canada. Canada is investing $6 billion through the Team Canada Strong initiative to train 100,000 new Red Seal workers, offering apprentices up to $16,000 in support and employers $10,000 in wage subsidies to build a stronger future. |

Red Dress Day Every day, Indigenous families grieve loved ones lost to the national crisis of violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people. We reaffirm our commitment to work in partnership with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis—supporting grassroots organizations, investing in Indigenous-led solutions, and expanding safe, long-term housing. We’re also advancing a Red Dress Alert system to help find missing Indigenous people faster. Together, we must build a future where Indigenous communities are safe and free from violence |
