Black History Month is a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the critical role that countless Black trailblazers, past and present, continuously play in shaping Canada into the country it is today.

Our 2025 theme for Black History Month, “Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations”, acknowledges the diversity, leadership, and legacy of Black Canadians, all of which continue to be built for future generations.

You can access the photobooth pictures here. And a full album is available on Facebook.

Every day can be flag day!

On February15th we celebrated flag day, and the 60th anniversary of Canada’s flag. But we can show our Canadian pride and fly the red maple leaf high each and every day! Our office has a limited supply of free Canada flags and pins. Please stop by our community office (2155 Lawrence Avenue East @ Birchmount) during business hours to pick up yours. Let’s celebrate Canada together!

Canada stands up to bullies

In Canada, we stand up to bullies. And when Canada is attacked, we stand together and we fight back hard.

Donald Trump is threatening Canada with 25% tariffs on most Canadian goods.

We will respond to these unjustified tariffs with 25% tariffs on $155B of American goods.

We didn’t ask for this fight.

This isn’t a time for partisanship.

We will stand up for Canadian jobs and Canadian families.

Buy Canadian. Travel Canadian. Stand with Canada.

High-speed rail is coming to Canada!

The Toronto-Quebec City corridor is home to 18 million people, 40 per cent of our GDP, over 700,000 students, and more than 30 colleges and universities.

Passengers deserve transportation options that get them where they need to go quickly, reliably, and safely. That’s why our Liberal Government is announcing Alto, a High-Speed Rail network in the Toronto-Quebec City Corridor.

Running at speeds up to 300 km/h, it will cut train travel times in half and put passengers first, on dedicated tracks – with stops in Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montréal, Laval, Trois-Rivières, and Quebec City.

As Canada’s largest ever infrastructure project, high-speed rail will boost GDP by up to $35 billion annually, create over 51,000 good-paying jobs during construction, and unlock enhanced productivity for decades to come.

Opening Canada to the world

While we stand up to protect Canada from Trump’s tariff threats, we’re also working hard to diversity Canada’s trading relationships.

We just concluded a free trade agreement with Ecuador, strengthening Canada’s economic footprint in Latin America. Canada now has FTAs with every Pacific Coast nation in South America—securing our place as a major economic player in the region.

Since 2015, we’ve been breaking down barriers and creating opportunities in more than 50 countries through 15 free trade agreements.

Now is the time for our businesses to take advantage of Canada’s many free trade agreements to increase trade with our global partners.
