Laying the foundation for National Pharmacare
I joined Health Minister Mark Holland and Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities Minister Kamal Khera at the Scarborough Centre for Health Communities to talk about how our government is making contraception medications and devices and diabetes medications, like insulin, free for Canadians.
It's the first step towards an historic national pharmacare program, and its progress for Canadians that Conservatives want to cancel. But we will keep fighting to make life more affordable for everyday Canadians.

Marking Orthodox Easter
In May we celebrated Orthodox Easter, and I extend warm wishes to all Orthodox Christians in our community and in all of Canada.
This sacred holiday holds profound significance, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ and symbolizing hope, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness. It's also a moment to reflect on personal sacrifices and acts of compassion.
Let's collectively reach out to those in need and strengthen the bonds of community.

For a more accessible Canada
As part of National AccessAbility Week, we have launched a new call for proposals (CFP) under the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) small projects component.
Through this initiative, our government is investing $14.7 million to fund approximately 150 small scale construction projects that will create more inclusive and accessible spaces; help persons with disabilities access good quality jobs; and help persons with disabilities fully participate and meaningfully contribute to our society and economy.

Creating more child care spaces for families in Ontario
We’re providing $201.87 million to create more child care spaces and support inclusive child care services across Ontario. This will help Ontario reach our goal of creating 86,000 new child care spaces by 2026. That means:
- More families with access to affordable child care;
- More child care spaces in rural and remote regions; and,
- More support for communities that face barriers to access.
